5 Ways to Pamper Yourself at Home

5 Ways to Pamper Yourself at Home

The world is madness right now and for good reason. To ensure everyone’s safety, you’re probably locked away in quarantine, stress eating whatever you can find, and binge watching the shows you literally just finished- just like the rest of the world. And while uncertainty is at an all time high, so are our stress levels. Most everything is closed which means managing “you time” and the pampering that’s necessary for our souls, is a wee bit of a challenge. Despite the social distancing it’s still important to maintain your confidence, maintenance, and sanity. Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out. We’ve compiled  a list of 5 ways you can self pamper yourself at home.

Give yourself a manicure- Who says great nails need to come with an appointment? Grab your Gel Starter Kit, some cuticle oil, a file, and hand lotion. Used to the social aspect of getting your nails done? That can be fixed too. Call your best friend, talk to yourself, or turn on Netflix for anything but silence.  Personally, just the thought of manicuring my nails and binge watching my favorite shows, gets me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Improvise a Deep tissue massage- Now’s the time when you’re thanking the Gods you still have that electric massage pad stored away… who are we kidding? “ Tossed somewhere” in the garage. Find it. Use it. Use the hell out of it. And before you allow the artificial hands to smooth out the knots (literally your whole back,) light a few scented candles, turn down the lights, and zen the f*ck out. If you don’t have a massage pad, don’t sweat it. Amazon has some amazing tools you can use such as this one.

If all else fails, grab a tennis ball and put it under your back while you lay on the floor. While lying on the ball, maneuver it to the spot you need the most pressure. This has been a life saver for me.

Give yourself a facial- What better time to perfect your skin than being entrapped inside? One minute your skin is rough and dry and then, the next time the world sees you, bam… it’s silky smooth and lacking those dark circles you’ve been fashioning here, lately. Check out our favorite at home spa facial here.

Meditate-Work on calming the nerves we’re all feeling by taking care of yourself mentally. Studies have shown that meditating can lengthen your attention span, generate kindness, and control anxiety. I think the whole world needs to take a second to meditate, if I’m being honest. If you’re new to the practice, indulge in a book like the best seller Practicing Mindfulness.

Nurse your hair back to health-  Your roots are starting to peek through the blonde you’ve been working hard to achieve. When I say “ working hard to achieve,” I mean, you’ve literally sacraficed hardcore dollars and YEARS in getting the color you have now. While it may seem somewhat devastating to see the darkness shining through ( or the grays) take this time to be productive in strengthening the hair you’ve been beating up. If you don’t have any seriously strong conditioning treatments at home, Pinterest is full of them! My personal favorite is here.
